I have always spoken out for what was right, and stood up against what was wrong. Although, that has never been popular. The most important stand is against perpetuating ignorance. To continue to grow, seek and make intellectual inquiry instead of accepting by faith the dictates of others. To face the new ideas with bravery, and meet the challenge of change. In my life, my job, as a lawyer, is to stand in front of the frail & weak with the sheild of the law, and the Sword of Justice. Threats and intimidation are fuel to my heart. I am the one who challenges authority and power. I do not waiver. People do not have ANY rights unless they know, they have rights, sometimes then, they need someone to stand with them in order to have and hold those rights. That is my life. I meet these challenges every day. Although I am the hired gun that fights the initial battle, I try to empower those who call and seek me, with the knowledge they need to continue their struggles. I do not "Go Along" with injustices because they are popular, or deny causes that are unpopular; or seem too insignificant. If you let the small things, slide by, because one little instance, was too much trouble to stand up for, next time,10, then 100. I consider it my duty to stand up; for the next victims that will come along if I do nothing.
